Cenolia glebosus is found depths of 10-28m in sub-tropical coral outcrops in the Western Pacific Ocean along the East Australian Coast and Lord How Island from Mooloolaba Queensland to Broughton Island near Port Stephans in New South Wales (Rowe et al 1986). There have only been 30 known sightings since 1977 (Rowe et al 1986).
